Juan Pablo Dabove

Professor Dabove works on Latin American literature, culture and history from the early nineteenth century to the present. Specific genres of interest: narrative, essay, political and historical writing. Prof. Dabove's current topics of interest is the relationship between fiction and politics in nineteenth century writing, in particular the narrative 'embodiment' of liberal and conservative ideologies. Other current topic of interest is Latin American gothic fiction. Professor Dabove has written extensively on bandits, outlaws and peasant insurgents in fiction and non-fiction.
